Once you have tasted an authentic Belgian Liege Waffle you will find them impossible to resist. Liege Waffles are made with a yeast dough which contains small lumps of pearl sugar. When well risen and proved, the dough is placed onto a very hot iron and cooked for 3 to 4 minutes, then left to cool where they magically take on the texture of brioche but with a sugary crunch when you take a bite. The great thing about them is they are just as delicious “naked” or served with local Vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, a sprinkle of your favourite sweet and topped off with a generous drizzle of sauce. Voila, you have yourself a delightfully delicious desert.
We’ve been serving these little beauties since 2017 and are one of our best sellers. Plump, mini waffles lightly dusted with cinnamon sugar … delicious!
Currently we have been serving 5 main waffle toppings along with a scoop of delicious Vanilla ice cream and a generous dollop of whipped cream. We plan to introduce more toppings at each event including Nutella (delicious with bananas), Pure Canadian Maple Syrup and Spiced Bramley Apple with Salted Caramel.
